Brandenburg sees no financial options for a 29-euro ticket in the Berlin-Brandenburg region
The state of Brandenburg has no financial options for introducing a 29-euro ticket or a nine-euro social ticket for the Berlin-Brandenburg region. Instead, the Brandenburg mobility ticket is already offered in the state of Brandenburg, a heavily discounted ticket. Transport Minister Guido Beermann (CDU) announced that there is no financial support for other subsidized tickets as part of the individual plan 11.
The state of Berlin, too, has apparently not yet tried to convince Brandenburg of a Berlin 29-euro ticket. A proposal to convert Brandenburg with higher grants for the expansion of the park-and-ride offers was not accepted by Brandenburg. The state government in Brandenburg is not aware of the offer of a 29-euro ticket on the part of the new Berlin Senate. There is also no information to increase the co-financing of the P+R systems.
Kristian Ronneburg, the traffic policy spokesman for the left in the House of Representatives, commented on this with the words: "The answer from Brandenburg clearly says that the neighboring country will not provide any money for a 29-euro ticket solution." So far, traffic senator Manja Schreiner (CDU) has neither presented a concept for the 29-euro ticket, nor had she communicated offers to Brandenburg. Ronneburg also criticized that the Senate does not pursue the topic with sufficient seriousness.
In the coalition agreement, the black-red government in Berlin agreed to introduce an unlimited 29-euro ticket. 300 million euros are planned for this in the household. However, it is unclear how the ticket will be precisely designed and whether it will ultimately be introduced. According to its own statements, the Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) sees no need for such a ticket, since there is already the Germany ticket and the job ticket based on it for 34 euros a month.
There are also reservations from Brandenburg against the plan from Berlin, since an offer would only mean a special path in the tariff network for Berliners and could ensure an imbalance.
Brandenburg's Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) did not comment on the Berlin plans and emphasized that the Germany ticket is already offering an attractive price.
