Yesterday evening there was a crash in Oberschöneweide! A 38-year-old driver was driving a rental car on Rummelsburger Straße when he had to wait at the traffic lights to turn left onto Treskowallee. As soon as the traffic light turned green, the driver raced into the intersection - and directly into a 39-year-old cyclist who was driving on An der Wuhlheide towards Rummelsburger Straße.
The impact was violent: the cyclist hit the hood and sustained injuries to his hip and knee. Emergency services rushed to the scene and took him to a hospital, where he is now being treated as an inpatient. Fortunately, there is no danger to life! The driver, however, was uninjured, but had to deal with a damaged car and a cyclist in the hospital. The investigation is carried out by a specialist police department, and the excitement at the intersection remains in the memory of everyone involved for a longer time.
