There was a dramatic traffic accident in Reinickendorf yesterday morning in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured. A 25-year-old driver wanted to turn left at the Emmentaler Straße/Residenzstraße intersection around 9 a.m. when she collided with a 32-year-old motorcyclist who wanted to pass her vehicle. The motorcyclist lost control, crashed into the boundary wall of the subway station and fell onto the escalator.
Rescue workers immediately rushed to help and took the injured man to hospital with head and back injuries, but his life was not in danger. The driver was uninjured, while both vehicles sustained significant damage. The intersection was closed for a short time while the accident was being recorded, and the investigation into the exact circumstances is now being carried out by the Traffic Crimes Inspectorate.
