On Monday night, a 24-year-old suspected drug dealer was arrested in Friedrichshain after he evaded police control. The officers intended to check him at the Warschauer Straße subway station at 10:50 p.m., but the man fled over the Warschauer Brücke towards Revaler Straße. While hunting for him, a dramatic incident occurred: he fell several meters down an embankment and landed on branches and the ground.
Paramedics administered first aid and the man was taken to hospital where he is being treated. There is no danger to life. The police found a large number of narcotics and cash in the arrested man's backpack, which were confiscated. Two police officers were injured during the arrest and had to be treated on an outpatient basis. The 24-year-old had an outstanding arrest warrant for drug offenses and is now being investigated by the police for resisting law enforcement officers and suspected drug trafficking.
