Drunk and known: woman with scooter in tram tracks and seriously injures herself
In the night of Sunday, a serious traffic accident occurred in Berlin-Friedrichshagen. A 43-year-old woman was traveling with her scooter on the Fürstenwalder Damm towards Köpenick when she got into the rails of the tram for unexplained reasons.
In the fall, the woman and her scooter slipped a few meters above the asphalt. The driver crashed into a light mast with her head and was then no longer accessible. An attentive driver who happened to come by stopped immediately and provided first aid. At the same time the emergency call was notified.
After the emergency medical care, the injured woman was taken to a hospital. There the doctors found various abrasions and a head injury. In the hospital, the woman stated that he had consumed cannabis before driving. A breath alcohol test also resulted in a value of 1.75 per thousand.
It is extremely dangerous to take part in the influence of drugs and alcohol in road traffic. These substances significantly influence the perception, response time and concentration and thus represent a great danger for both the driver himself and for other road users.
The Berlin police are now investigating the exact causes of the accident. It is to be hoped that this incident serves as a warning and no one will drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Your own security and safety of other road users should always come first.
It is important to be aware that road traffic is not a playground, but requires a responsible willingness to act. Drug and alcohol consumption at the wheel can have serious consequences and, in the worst case, even cost human lives. Responsibility and mutual consideration are essential to avoid accidents and tragic events.
