As a citizen of Berlin, I am concerned about attacks against tram and bus drivers because I am traveling every day by public transport. Violent attacks not only unsettle the victims and witnesses, but also the whole society. It is important that everyone involved, including the witnesses, say the truth so that fair judgments can be made. Every single case of violence in public transport has potentially negative effects on the security and general comfort of people in Berlin. It is therefore of great importance that such incidents are taken seriously and adequately persecuted in order to maintain trust in the security of local public transport.
