Construction of two new playgrounds in Lichtenrade starts this week!

Nuthestraße 25, 12347 Berlin, Deutschland - This week, construction work for two new playgrounds in Lichtenrader Nuthestrasse begins. This was shared by the district councilor Dr. Saskia Ellenbeck who praised the innovative planning and the tender of the playgrounds. The playground on Nuthestrasse 25 will include an area of around 2,500 square meters and is aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 12. The completion is planned for the end of the year. The design includes two playing hills that are connected by a large game landscape, on which activities such as hen, slide, balancing, swinging and climbing are possible. In addition, a toddler playground, "Steinplatz", is built on Nuthestrasse 55-57, which has an area of 1,400 square meters and is aimed at children under 6 years.

For both playgrounds, completion dates have also been aimed for by the end of the year, and the design provides for a tree -covered meadow with a play island and the consideration of its old trees. The projects are financed by state funds from the special fund of infrastructure of the growing city (Siwa), supplemented by additional funds from the urban development program "Living centers and quarters" as well as district funds from profits in parking management.

participation and game management

The development of the playgrounds is only part of the more comprehensive game management of the Lichtenrade active center, which was launched in 2016. This planning is based on the active participation of children, adolescents and residents in order to integrate their needs and wishes into urban development. The redesign of Rehagener Platz, which was completed in autumn 2019, testifies to this approach. There, the children's wishes and ideas were discussed and implemented in the concrete planning, for example by the construction of a climbing rock and the installation of a sky swing.

The Rehagener Platz is now designed as a cross -generational meeting point, with various offers such as a table tennis plate and seating. The students of a fourth grade of the Käthe-Kollwitz primary school have also designed a sign with playground rules, which underlines the participation of the children in the project. The planning was carried out in cooperation with a specialist office, which also supervises the further measures of the active center and works closely with the responsible offices.

advantages of game management

The game management, integrated planning with a long -term orientation, is aimed at systematically incorporating the interests of children and adolescents into urban development. This is regarded as an essential instrument to design the public spaces so that they meet the needs of all generations. The recommendations from the game management should also be taken into account in future budget consultations and illustrate the value of participation in urban planning.

The initiatives in Lichtenrade are therefore a significant step towards a more family -friendly city design that not only creates play opportunities, but also promotes community and encounter.
