Bad Hindelang's 'Emmi -Mobil' Mobility solution as a best practice on 'DB - Experience Mobility' 2024 in Berlin

Bad Hindelang, a market town in the Allgäu High Alps, was presented at the innovation fair "DB-Experience Mobility" in 2024 of the Deutsche Bahn in Berlin as a "Best Practice" example. The CEO of Deutsche Bahn AG, Dr. Richard Lutz, informed himself personally about the Bad Hindelanger mobility concept EMMI-Mobil, which was presented as an example of 24 travel destination areas in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. A total of 350 decision -makers from business, politics, associations, rail industry and media visited the event.

Emmi-Mobil is a needs-oriented mobility solution that has been available as a free addition to public transport (public transport) in Bad Hindelang since December 2021. The system consists of two electrical minibuses and an app with virtual stops, which enable citizens and overnight guests to have environmentally friendly mobility.

The mobility concept from Bad Hindelang was by Dr. Kathrin Bürglen, head of the Nature Cooperation, described Natur, as unique among the travel destinations. It offers a climate-friendly travel chain and is to be integrated into the DB navigator in the future.

The EMMI-Mobil mobility solution already covers the “last mile” in Bad Hindelang and closes the gap to the next train station in Sonthofen every half hour. From the 2024/25 winter season, Bad Hindelang will be part of the "Guest Ticket - Bus & Bahn", with which holiday guests in the entire district of Oberallgäu including the Tannheimer Tal/Tirol and Kempten as well as to Lindau will be free of charge.

The mobility concept from Bad Hindelang has received multiple awards in recent years. It was recognized as particularly climate -friendly and as a contribution to reducing private transport. The community is strongly committed to gentle mobility.

With a view to worldwide statistics, it becomes clear that 75 percent are responsible for CO2 emissions in tourism. The trade fair "DB-Mobility Experience" 2024 should offer solutions for integrated everyday mobility and plans to include the Bad Hindelang mobility concept in the DB navigator.
