A shocking video nationwide caused horror when a 15-year-old rioter threw a fire extinguisher on the windscreen of an ambulance on New Year's Eve in Berlin-Neukölln. Now the Berlin public prosecutor's office has finally charged the German youth, almost half a year after the crime.

The indictment accuses the young perpetrator a total of four crimes. According to the investigation, his nightly actions had a damage of 34,614 euros. The individual allegations are as follows:

  1. dangerous intervention in road traffic: Shortly after midnight, the young person rolled several garbage cans onto the street and overturned them, which almost caused an accident.

  2. common property damage: About 45 minutes later, with a fire extinguisher, he specifically hit four slices of the “Bambachstrasse” bus stop and caused property damage of 2282 euros.

  3. Attack on rescue workers: Immediately afterwards, he hurled the fire extinguisher onto the windscreen of an ambulance of the Red Cross. The disc fraged in such a way that the car was no longer operational. The damage incurred is 27,650 euros.

  4. Repeated property damage: Since the first ambulance was so badly damaged that it could no longer continue, another ambulance from the Berlin fire brigade had to be alerted to take the emergency patient to the hospital. But the rioter once again threw the fire extinguisher on this replacement parameters, which caused damage of 4682 euros.

  5. Fortunately, no people were injured in the incidents. However, the public prosecutor evaluates the fire extinguisher attacks as an attack on rescue workers, dangerous intervention in road traffic, tried dangerous bodily harm and inhabitant property damage.

    The trial of the minor perpetrator is expected to take place at the Tiergarten district court, the exact date has not yet been determined. Due to its age, the process will not be public, in accordance with the Youth Court Act (Paragraph 48).
