What you need to know about the trip to Kladow

How to get from the city center to the other side of the Havel and you can experience that there except bathing fun.

Waying: To Kladow you can get from Berlin via Heerstrasse or from south via Potsdam. Also with the BVG or bicycle, the journey is possible via the BVG ferry F10 at Wannsee train station. The ferry runs from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. to the normal BVG tariff.

Essen: After the ferry crossing, hungry travelers can rest at the Kladower harbor in the beer gardens "Maisel’s Return" (Imchenallee 44) or "Emma and Paul’s Biergarten" (Imchenallee 42). Anyone who has come to the Groß Glienicker See should prefer the Kladow boathouse. The restaurant is located right next to the southern bathing area, directly on the state border with Brandenburg. Boats can also be rented there (from 10 euros per hour). A tip for lovers of crumble cakes: The Ritterfeld Landbäckerei (e.g. Sacroower Landstrasse 22) offers particularly good crumble and poppy seed cake.

Churches: The reed roof chapel and the village church of Kladow will merge into a parish. The merger will only be carried out on January 1, 2024, but the two pastors Alexander Remler and Nicolas Budde are already working closely together and organize special events such as baptisms in Lake Groß Glienick. Information is available at www.evangelische-kirche-in-kladow.de.

Museum: The military-historical museum airfield Berlin-Gatow (former Air Force Museum) is a branch of the Bundeswehr military-historical museum. While a general cultural history of violence is told in the main building in Dresden, the Berlin Museum focuses on the air war as the latest form of military violence. It is located at the Gatow 33 airfield and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The country house garden of the bank director Max Fraenkel fled in front of the National Socialists is almost three hectares in size and is located at the exit from Kladow to Sacrow, directly on the Havel (Lüdiceweg 1). The listed garden is open from Monday to Thursday from 7.30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fridays from 7.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is also a summer café and a visitor center on weekends.
