A14: Locking of the Leisnig Nord junction for roadway renewal

The A14 motorway will be closed in the direction of Leipzig from June 17, 2024 to July 31, 2024 due to road renewal work. The Leisnig Nord junction will not be passable during this time. In order to record the traveling traffic, it is recommended to use the driveway in the direction of travel in Dresden and to turn at the Döbeln Nord junction towards Leipzig. The downhill traffic is led to the following junction Mutzschen, where it can turn.

This upcoming blocking is expected to have a significant impact on regional traffic. The detour via Döbeln Nord will lead to an increased traffic load on the streets in this area. Commuters and travelers should therefore adapt their timetables and look for alternative routes to avoid delays. It is also to be expected that the traffic on the route that connects the driveway towards Dresden and the Döbeln Nord junction will increase sharply.

Historically, the A14 is a relatively new motorway in Germany. It was built in the 1990s as part of the reconstruction of the transport infrastructure in the new federal states. The highway has played an important role in the connection of the East to the rest of Germany and supported the economic upswing in this region.

In order to provide the local road users more information, we have created a table with relevant data for the upcoming blocking:

| ————————————————— |
| A14 junction Leisnig Nord - closure |
| ————————————————— |
| Date | 17.06.2024 to 31.07.2024 |
| ————————————————— |
| Direction | Leipzig |
| ————————————————— |
| Reason | Lane renewal |
| ————————————————— |
| Dimination | Drive Dresden, turn at Döbeln Nord |
| | Departure Mutzschen, turn there |
| —————————————————— |

We recommend that all road users take this information into account and, if necessary, plan alternative routes in order to avoid the possible traffic jams and delays during the closure. Further information can be found on the Federal Autobahn GmbH website at www.autobahn.de/ost.

Halle, as the seat of the Federal branch of the Autobahn GmbH of the federal government, could also be affected by this block. Road users who want to drive from Halle to Leipzig may have to plan longer travel times and consider alternative routes.

It is expected that the roadway renewal on the A14 will lead to improved street quality and a safer transport infrastructure. Nevertheless, the temporary inconvenience cannot be avoided. We are confident that the road users in the region will understand these circumstances and react accordingly in order to keep the burden on as low as possible for everyone.
