10 years of correction: common good -oriented journalism for strong democracy
Since July 14, 2014, seven people have been working together on a vision: correction, an independent, non -profit research center that wants to strengthen democratic society. In the past ten years, Correctiv has developed into Germany's largest common good media house - with over 150 committed employees.
The Mission of Correctiv is to strengthen democracy with its means of common good -oriented journalism, media education and technology. The Correctiv team is working on uncovering systemic problems and making solutions tangible for everyone.
Independent journalism is the focus of the work of Correctiv. Careful research takes up relevant topics and promoted the democratic discussion. Some of the most important research in the past ten years have been the search for traces for the flight MH17, the Cumex files, the AfD donation affair, the crowds "Who owns the city?" as well as the "secret plan against Germany". This research was uncovered and social changes were initiated.
As a common good -oriented media house, Correctiv goes beyond traditional journalism. In addition to independent journalism, Correctiv also relies on media education and the development of technological solutions. Media education is the foundation for a strong, democratic civil society. Correctiv offers various projects that enable people to reliably use and spread information. Correctiv's factual check editorial team fights false reports and conveys arguments and methods against disinformation. The reporter factory, as Europe's largest media education platform, conveys media literacy and makes the methods of journalism accessible to young people.
In addition, the Correctiv team develops human-centered technologies to establish a relationship with communities and promote participation. These tools also support other editorial offices and can help strengthen journalism for the future.
The common good media house Correctiv has established itself as an important pillar in the media landscape in the past 10 years. The charity of the organization enables independence, innovative strength and resilience. Correctiv is a pioneer for new models in journalism and shows how you can be successful even in times of financial bottlenecks. As part of the forum for non -profit journalism in Germany, Correctiv is committed to recognizing journalism as a non -profit purpose and making the media landscape sustainable.
The future needs strong journalism that shines democracy. Correctiv is determined to continue to make an important contribution to strengthening democracy and promoting freedom of expression in Germany and beyond
