Future of long -term care insurance: concerns about financing in the focus

nursing insurance: the call to a solidarity system

In Berlin, the Federal Association We Care e.v. made it clear that the current discussion about social long -term care insurance requires a critical assessment. The analysis of the Federal Government's report on the “future -proof financing of social long -term care insurance” sets the course for the future development of care in Germany.

The central concern of the association and its members is the guarantee of adequate and sufficient care supply, which meets both those in need of care and their relatives. Prof. Dr. Notburga Ott, member of the board of we care e.v. , expresses concern about the models outlined in the report. According to OTT, these ignore the current challenges in the nursing sector, such as the lack of range of professional care services. As a result, an unreasonable burden is passed on to caring relatives without adequately taking their financial and temporal cuts into account.

A crucial point that is highlighted by We care e.V. is the need for full insurance for those in need of care and their relatives who are supposed to close the existing gap in justice. Many people who rely on care are often unable to bear the unsecured costs for necessary services. This means an increased risk of poverty, especially for those who rely on the support of their relatives due to the lack of offers. Relatives often have to do without income and social participation in order to ensure the necessary support.

On the basis of the concerns and proposals, We maintain a fair, solidarity organized full insurance, which also includes the income of all citizens into the contribution calculation. Such an approach would make sure on the one hand that all those in need of care have access to the services required, and on the other hand, reduce the financial burden, which is often on the shoulders of relatives.

  • We care e.V. therefore calls for a comprehensive reform of long -term care insurance based on solidarity.
  • The consideration of involving all income in the contribution calculation is expressly welcomed.
  • A harmonized system for private and statutory nursing insurance is considered sensible.

These demands are not only important for those affected, but also have far -reaching social implications. The demographic change and the increasing number of people in need of care require quick actions between politics and society. Without the appropriate measures, care will not only be dependent on individualized arms, but will drop overall, which endangers the well -being of society as a whole.

With these considerations, the Federal Association We Care e.V. clearly campaigns for a future -proof and fair solution in the field of long -term care insurance, which takes into account the needs of people in need of care and the challenges for their relatives.
