Berlin, September 17, 2024-The wounds from Corona pandemic are far from healed! The real estate industry raises the alarm: The urgently needed processing of the measures runs in length and is therefore unacceptable. In an urgent explanation, Zia President Iris Schöberl calls on those responsible for action. "The time of talking is over! We finally have to draw the right conclusions so as not to repeat the mistakes of recent years," said the President of the Central Real Estate Committee e.V.

Schöberl emphasizes that the protection of the vulnerable groups was essential during the pandemic. However, many retailers and hoteliers brought the measures introduced to contain the virus to the edge of the abyss. "The extreme situation from 2021 to 2023 led to some companies have not survived the pandemic," she explains.

The urgency of the analysis

The key to avoiding future errors lies in a careful and absolutely necessary analysis of the measures taken. Schöberl is radical: "It must not be about blame. We have to learn for the future!" She particularly misses the evaluations of Lockdowns as well as the 2G and 3G rules that are indispensable for an objective assessment. "Why was the risk factor not illuminated earlier? The real estate industry, represented by the ZIA, has a voice that extends to the centers of power to Brussels, Vienna and Zurich. It represents a total of around 37,000 companies and demands more than just lip service. "We now have to become active and develop solutions - for everyone involved!"
