Open winter playgrounds in Berlin: Indoor playgrounds for families in Steglitz-Zehlendorf.

Playgrounds are great for families with children - but only when the weather is appropriate. The walk to the playground seems less attractive when swings and slides are rained wet and the Berlin autumn wind whistles the waiting parents uncomfortably around the ears. But where to put the many upcoming gray-regulatory autumn and winter days when the children push out of the apartment? As already in 2022, the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district office also helps this year with so-called winter playgrounds.

Four sports halls of the district, in Lichterfelde, Lankwitz, Steglitz and Zehlendorf, will open again as an indoor playground from Saturday, November 4th. Up to and including Sunday, March 24, 2024, the winter playgrounds of children aged 1 to 6 years can be played with an accompanying person. Qualified trainers are in action in every sports hall who build a weekly changing movement course.

Participation is free of charge and possible without prior notice at every full hour. Sports shoes and corresponding clothing are a prerequisite. The district office organized the winter playgrounds in cooperation with the clubs Sportkinder Berlin, Tusli, SSC Südwest and VfL-Zehlendorf.

The following sports halls will be converted into children's playgrounds in the winter months in Steglitz-Zehlendorf at the weekend:

  • Lankwitz: Alt-Lankwitz elementary school, Schulstraße 17, 12247 Berlin, Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Steglitz: Helene-Lange-Schule, Lauenburger Straße 20, Access via Steinstraße, 12169 Berlin, in the upper Halle, Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Lichterfelde: Giesensdorfer primary school, Ostpreussendamm 63, 12207 Berlin, Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Zehlendorf: Schweizerhof primary school, Teltower Damm 123, 14167 Berlin, Halle Links, Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
