reinforced mobile communications: a profit for the community in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark

In the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark, mobile phone supply has improved significantly in the past two months. Deutsche Telekom has set up five new LTE locations and a 5G location, which significantly increases the cover and the connection quality. This technical advances contribute to satisfying the everyday communication needs of the residents and also promoting digital participation in rural areas.

The newly created locations are located in the municipalities of Havelsee, Schwielowsee, Teltow, Werder and Wollin. The locations in Schwielowsee and Wollin in particular are strategically important for mobile phone coverage along the A2, A9 and A10 motorways. The trains between Brandenburg-Nord-Berlin and Braunschweig-Berlin also benefit from this optimization, which is an attractive option for commuters.

"The demand for a better bandwidth grows annually by around 30 percent. Therefore, the mobile phone expansion is quickly promoted," emphasizes Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Telekom. These efforts are part of a comprehensive plan to create a total of 65 other locations in the district by 2026 and to expand at 41 existing locations LTE or 5G.

Telekom currently provides 123 mobile phone locations in the district and achieves a budget coverage of well over 99 percent. This means that almost all households in the region have access to mobile phone services. The need for these investments is underlined by the dependence of people on fast mobile phone connections for work, education and leisure.

The improvement of the digital infrastructure not only affects the international competitiveness of companies, but also strengthens the sense of community. The people in the region now have better opportunities to communicate with each other, which increases the quality of life and can boost the local economy.

Telekom relies on cooperation with the municipalities and property owners in order to secure the necessary areas for new mobile phone locations. This is crucial for the further expansion of the network.
