Leonard K. had invested 55,000 euros in the cryptocurrency PLCU in spring 2022. However, the course fell and Leonard K. wanted to make up for the losses again. Therefore, he developed a perfidious plan: he attracted the man who had recommended the investment to an extra rented apartment near the Kudamm. There his friend and entrepreneur Jamal el-B awaited him there. (41). According to the indictment, the man was beaten and injured with a knife. In addition, 70,000 euros were required. The man had to call his mother and threaten her with his death. Finally, he transferred 21,890 euros because he no longer had liquid. As if that weren't enough, the entrepreneur also asked for the mother's car.
On the list of witnesses, Ben Tewaag (47), the son of the well -known actress Uschi Glas (79). Tewaag, the head of a Munich film production company, is well friends with the Berlin entrepreneur, according to the indictment. The time of his statement in court is still unclear because he is currently supposed to be in Portugal.
If the entrepreneur and his previous criminal friend make a confession, they face a maximum of 2 years in prison for probation. Otherwise, they could expect significantly higher penalties of up to 10 years in prison. The judgment is expected on July 24th.
It remains to be seen how the process goes out and what consequences the defendants expect. However, the background and effects of cryptocurrency investments should not be neglected. Serious consequences can occur in particular in connection with greed and the loss of rational thinking.
