Sport and community: Olympiad 60+ inspires Adlershofer seniors
On October 2, 2024, the Merlitzhalle in Adlershof shone in the glamor of top performance! Under the patronage of the district mayor Oliver Igel, the 60+ 6th Olympiad expected. The spirit of the athletes, the joie de vivre and the tireless ambition of the over 100 participating senior citizens were simply stirring!
The Olympics 60+, an event that gains popularity among the older people in Treptow-Köpenick every year, confirms the message: Staying is the key to a fulfilling life! With a variety of stations and challenging activities, this event motivated the participants to cross their limits and at the same time to promote their health.
a festival of sport and joy
The rally "Hunting for the Cup" was a real highlight of the day, with almost 30 exciting stations that put the participants through their paces. But that was far from everything! A rousing supporting program not only ensured sporting activities, but also entertainment: Zumba workshops on cool beats, informative lectures on health in old age and numerous surprises provided an unforgettable experience.
At the subsequent handover of the cup, led by Oliver Igel and the district councilor for social affairs, health, work and participation, Carolin Weingart, the best athletes of the day were honored. Bright faces and pride were the main actors here - a real reason to celebrate!

This fantastic Olympics would not have been possible without the active support of many helpers and organizations! The close cooperation with PSV Olympia Berlin e.V. and other partners, including the Berlin police, the State Sports Association Berlin and the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V., created the perfect basis for this great day.
