Topping-out ceremony in Treptow-Köpenick: a new milestone for school

A big step for education in Treptow-Köpenick! Today, the topping-out ceremony for the new school supplement at the primary school on the Püttbergen was celebrated with a lot of cheering and festive trara. A three -storey building is created on Fürstenwalder Allee 182 in order to finally meet the exploding demand for primary school places. This is not just a construction project - it is a crucial answer to the future of education in the region!

The time -honored school building from 1930 is not abolished, but it cannot cope with the growing need for school places alone. The solution? A new extension that will offer space for a 4-day primary school and a comprehensive food supply. Here, education is rethought and comprehensively equipped to offer the children the best possible learning environment!

State secretary with clear words

With this significant occasion, dr. Torsten Kühne , our state secretary for school building and culprit, the importance of this new building: "We build new schools for Berlin: of high quality and contemporary!" And he is right! This topping-out ceremony is a clear signal for the success of the Berlin school building offensive, especially here in Treptow-Köpenick!

"We create urgently needed elementary school places and offer a learning environment that keeps up over time!" Kühne announced full of optimism. In times when the need for modern school places is so large, a real sign is set here. And not only for today's students, but also for the generations that will follow!

The construction takes on

But that's not all! In the future, the extension is connected by a barrier -free connection to the existing building. The planning follows the "Standards for the Construction of Schools" from the Berlin school building offensive. Plain by level is worked on functionality and efficiency. District Mayor Oliver Igel spoke of an important step: "We are not only investing in school places, but in the future of our children!"

And there is already progress: the old outbuilding, the "Krümmelschule", was demolished in 2023 after pollutants and static problems were found. Since then, the blueprint has been rolling like on the laces: According to the schedule, the shell should be up to June 2024, followed by window installation and roof work until the end of 2024. The interior is already beginning, and the entire completion is planned for 2025!

The construction costs? The state of Berlin is wearing it - a clear proof of the commitment to education and infrastructure! And the outdoor facilities will not be forgotten either. These should be repaired extensively by 2027 - so that students and teachers not only find the best conditions inside, but also outside!
