New playground in the Volkspark Köpenick: Large update for all generations!

In the Köpenick Volkspark, there is a big change in the near future: The street and green space office plans to start the redesign of the playground there in autumn. The main goal of this measure is to create a diverse range of leisure activities for different age groups. From mid -October to May 2025, the old play equipment will be replaced by new ones. A climbing tower and two bridge elements had to be broken down in 2023, which underlines the need to renovate.

The design of the playground on the Müggelheimer Damm is divided into two main areas. One area is specially designed for children: Here the little ones can look forward to a large game combination, a balancing bridge, a trampoline, a double swing and a game combination for toddlers. Particularly exciting: In the new game combination, three slides of an old play equipment that was dismantled in another project are reused. This not only reduces resource consumption, but also increases the play value.

The second area of the playground will be aimed at young people and adults. A calisthenics system is installed here, which enables users to train their bodies with their own weight. There are also fitness equipment, new table tennis slabs, two outdoor table kickers and an extended balancing route. This makes the playground not only a place for children, but also for adults who want to improve their fitness outdoors. Furthermore, new seating and a pavilion are planned to give visitors a pleasant stay.

The entire playground is blocked during the work. The public will be informed in good time about the exact data for reopening.
