Sustainable educational future: Expansion of the Grünau School begins

An exciting chapter for the Grünau school begins! A modern 3/4/2-related community school will be created here, which offers everything for the future of its students. With the expansion of the capacity of 810 to impressive 1,132 school places, this new building ensures that the young talents can be optimally encouraged!

The construction work is divided into three exciting sections, which are realized on Walchenseestrasse 40 (construction sections 1 and 3 - "Schulcampus") and on Walchenseestrasse 51 (construction phase 2 - "Sportsplatz in the existing"). The goal: to bring students from the basic level up to secondary level II under one roof!

Another highlight of this project is the construction of a new sports hall, which was inaugurated today with a solemn laying of the foundation of district mayor Oliver Igel and School City Councilor Marco Brauchmann! This state -of -the -art sports hall will be built on the existing sports field Walchenseestraße 51 and will revolutionize the sports landscape in the area!

Planned by the renowned architecture firm Renner Architects GmbH, the sports hall will have three indoor parts without a stand. In addition, it will accommodate a sports function building that optimally supports leisure and school sports. The outdoor areas are redesigned to offer the athletes the best prerequisites!

investments for the future

To implement this ambitious construction project, an impressive 11.440 million euros are made available from the state of Berlin's investment funds. The district office Treptow-Köpenick supervises the project under the experienced management of SE Facility Management-Department of Building Construction.

The construction work of the sports hall should be completed in the first quarter of 2026, while the outdoor facilities are to be completed by July 2026. An exciting and promising project that will sustainably shape the school and sports landscape in Grünau!
