Create grief and loneliness together with cemetery reciprocals!
From September 18, 2024, people can spend a special time every Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Waldfriedhof Oberschöneweide. Here there is the opportunity to talk to important topics of life with a cup of coffee or tea. The weekly offer of conversation bears the name "cemetery splosen" and is aimed at everyone who is looking for the exchange about loss, loneliness and the challenges of everyday life.
The Waldfriedhof Oberschöneweide, located in the extended Rathenaustrasse 131a in Berlin, becomes a place of encounter and coexistence. Often cemeteries can not only be perceived as places of commemoration to deceased, but also as a space in which you can take time for yourself or for conversations with others.
an action against loneliness
The concept behind the "cemetery splosen" is a cooperation between the quality development, planning and coordination center of the district office and the Catholic parish of St. Josef Treptow-Köpenick of the Archdiocese of Berlin. The aim is not only to offer people a space for grief, but also for exchange and support in difficult situations.
Participation in this exchange is completely free of charge, which is even more accessible to everyone who may feel lonely or simply seek dialogue with like -minded people. Regular contact can help to find a community even in difficult times.
If you have any questions, Ms. Monika Beil from the Catholic parish of parish of St. Josef Treptow-Köpenick is available. You can reach interested parties at the e-mail address monika.beil@erzbistumberlin.de.
The offer aims to strengthen social ties in the community and bring people together mechanically in order to promote exchange about everyday challenges. This initiative could be of great value for older people who often suffer from loneliness.
