Memorial events for the Köpenick Blood Week 2024 in Berlin
On June 21, 2024, the “Köpenicker Blood Week” marks the 91st time and on this occasion there are various commemorative events. Under the patronage of Marco Brauchmann, the district councilor for further training, school, culture and sport, a memorial event will take place on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in the Köpenick Blood Week memorial. The opening of the event is personally carried out by Marco Brauchmann, accompanied by a musical contribution by Julián Croato with the support of the Joseph Schmidt Music School.
On Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., a public tour entitled "The Elsengrund and the early SS terror" is offered. The speaker Yves Müller leads the participants through the memorial and the location of the action, starting at the Köpenick S-Bahn station.
On Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 3:00 p.m., another public tour is offered in the memorial.
The "Köpenicker Blood Week" in 1933 was characterized by an unprecedented arrest and violent wave of the National Socialists. In the days from June 21 to 26, 1933, several hundred politically those who think and Jews and Jews were deported and abused.
