The Mysterious Deaths of Whitney Houston and Kurt Cobain: An interview with Michael Tsokos
The renowned forensic doctor Michael Tsokos, who headed the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Berlin Charité by the end of 2023, gave insights into his fascinating work. Tsokos emphasized the importance of forensic medicine, which can lead to knowledge of avoiding transformer accidents, such as preventing the risk of strangulation in children to climbing. His career began atypical after he was accidentally accepted in a medical test, which led him to find his interest as a forensic doctor. He described his view of the strict access requirements in medical studies as inappropriate, since the school grades often do not represent a measure of the qualities of a doctor.
tsokos emphasized that the Charité, where he had been working since 2007, had become too political in his view and adapted too much to the time spirit currents. Especially in the Corona period, the lecturer-student ratio was suffered and the teaching was greatly circumcised. He also mentioned a possible activity in Hungary because he was teaching himself to teach in an environment with more intensive relationship between lecturers and students. Despite his resignation from the Charité, Tsokos remains active in forensic medicine and plans to teach in Hungary. Tsokos' view of independent university medicine and knowledge transfer remains one of his focus.
