Focus on nature and species protection: Marienfelde amusement park as an important recreational area
An important nature conservation project was recently by district councilor Dr. Saskia Ellenbeck, which affects the Marienfelde amusement park and its surrounding areas. The 120 hectare area serves as a recreation room and a protected area for nature in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district. During a tour, carried out by the Environment and Nature Conservation Office, numerous measures to create living space quality were presented.
The landscape plan includes the professional maintenance of the meadow areas, the upgrading of the entrance area and the path connections, the securing of the habitat of the culinary lizard, the preservation of undeveloped open spaces as grassland and the promotion of interference-sensitive animal and plant species such as the field hares. It is noteworthy that Tempelhof-Schöneberg is the only district that has developed a new landscape plan for many years.
Such measures are of great importance to preserve the biological diversity in urban areas and to offer residents an intact environment for relaxation and nature experiences. It also shows a strong commitment from the local government to promote nature conservation and sustainability in urban development.
In order to illustrate the importance of this project and the goals achieved, a table with information about the area size, the measures carried out could be helpful. This would enable readers to get a quick overview of the diverse aspects of the landscape plan and to understand the positive effects on the environment.
