Croco actions: Students plant 2,000 flowers in front of the Apostle Paul Church
A real flower miracle took shape on October 17, 2024! Students from the Löcknitz primary school packed the shovels and started: in front of the Apostle Paul Church, they turned a district green area into a flowering paradise! In collaboration with the Garden Working School Tempelhof-Schöneberg and the green spaces of the Tempelhof-Schöneberg street and green area office, a whopping 2,000 crocus tubers were brought into the ground!
The occasion? An exciting Berlin -wide planting campaign, in the last school week before the autumn holidays. Initated by the Berlin garden working schools, elementary school students from all over Berlin have the chance to create a hand - and not too scarce! 1,000 elves are made available for each class. These colorful tubers are more than just decoration: they offer the children the opportunity to gain practical experience in gardening and to raise their ecological awareness.
a sustainable project
What makes this action so special? The students not only learn how to set plants, they also experience the result of their work for years. Every spring the crocuses will bloom and remind you of how much joy and responsibility in gardening is.
This initiative is more than just a unique event - it is a step to a better understanding of nature and its care. And the future? The colorful floral splendor will not only brighten the surroundings, but also the hearts of the children who know that their hands were involved!
