Interactive art installation and intercultural festival: Celebrate the diversity in the neighborhood!

Intercultural cooperation celebrate at the Kiez culture festival

Next weekend, the intercultural house Schönberg invites you to a colorful cultural festival that celebrates the variety of neighborhoods and the encounter of different cultures. A special highlight will be the interactive art installation on the topics of Migration, flight and intercultural dialogue, which is presented by the Migranten e.V. Association.

The day starts at 1:00 p.m. with a greeting by district mayor Jörn Oltmann, followed by the opening of the art installation. Here visitors can discover 48 unique pictures and messages that encourage thinking about the different facets of migration.

In addition to art, there is a wide cultural program with live music and dances from all over the world. Look forward to fascinating Korean drum dance, enchanting Japanese instrumental music, rousing Brazilian Samba, rhythmic sounds from the Andes and the Caribbean as well as energetic African merger music. Special highlights are the dance performance of the Peruvian mask artist Edmundo Torres and a guest appearance of the popular Potsdam reggae band M.C. Kaki and the Popjam.

In addition to musical entertainment, visitors can expect culinary delicacies from different countries and exciting activities. From henna art to a plant exchange to a creative workshop, there is something for every taste. The photo exhibitions that give an insight into the life of peacemakers and Afghan women before Taliban rule are also particularly impressive.

The intercultural house also offers the opportunity to get to know the diverse offers and premises. Art, cooking and language courses, advice, music and dance groups as well as opportunities for meeting take place here regularly. A special guest on this day will be the district mothers of the German Red Cross from the "Kieztreff" on Ebersstrasse.
