Engagement in Tempelhof-Schöneberg: Voluntary heroes do great
This article honors the voluntary commitment of seven outstanding citizens of the Berlin district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg. The honored have actively participated in the community in various areas for many decades and thus show an impressive level of operational readiness and dedication.
Thomas Voelz has been working in voluntary disaster protection and at the Maltese in Berlin for over 40 years. His daily work as a vehicle officer, train troop and operations manager B contributes significantly to the safety of Tempelhof-Schöneberg.
DAGMAR SUHR has been involved at the primary school on Tempelhofer Feld for 17 years and is an important support as chair of the overall parliamentary agency and as head of the Hungerhake school support association.
Gerhard Hoffmann has been committed to equality of LGBTQ+people in Tempelhof-Schöneberg for over 40 years. As the founder of the pub “other bank” and initiator of the first rainbow flag elevator in front of the Schöneberg town hall, he has contributed significantly to the development of the rainbow bike as a sign of tolerance and acceptance in Berlin.
Jens Schneider has been active at the volunteer fire brigade in Tempelhof-Schöneberg for 36 years and has continued to contribute with great commitment despite the assault during New Year's Eve 2022/2023.
Dietrich Silver has been volunteering in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district for over 60 years and has created the “Laib and Soul” project, among other things.
Anne-Marie Braun has been active in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district since 2005 and has been a key role in the support of people from Ukraine, especially in the support of people from Ukraine.
Christian Fahlbusch has been volunteering at DLRG LV Berlin e.V. in Tempelhof for over 30 years and is active in swimming and rescue swimming training.
In addition to the individuals, the mourning support of the Evangelical Church Circle Tempelhof-Schöneberg is also awarded a funding award. The mourning support offers individual support in coping with losses through twelve volunteers, both in one -on -one discussions, mourning groups and digital formats.
The voluntary commitment of these people is invaluable for the community of Tempelhof-Schöneberg and illustrates how important voluntary commitment to work a living and solidarity society is.
