In an impressive step to improve the mobile radio infrastructure, Deutsche Telekom recently set a milestone in the Saalekreis. After only two months of intensive work, a 5G location shines in new splendor and ensures a noticeable upgrading of the network connection. Residents can look forward to better coverage, not only in the area, but also in their houses!
"The need for bandwidth is constantly increasing - around 30 percent per year. That is why we continue to pace in mobile phone expansion," explains Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom. These words are music in the ears of all those who rely on stable and quick connections in everyday life.
The location of the future in Petersberg
The new location located in the municipality of Petersberg plays a central role for the connection along the busy A14 motorway and the Saxony-Anhalt-Anhalt Süd railway line. Here the paths of street and rail meet the latest technologies, so that commuters and travelers can soon benefit from significantly improved connections.
In the entire Saalekreis, 103 mobile phone locations are already in operation, and the household cover is an impressive 99 percent. But Telekom does not rest on these laurels! A further 15 locations will be added by 2026, and extensions and upgrades to LTE or 5G are also carried out on 28 existing radio masts. This promises a network of superlatives!

For the implementation of these ambitious plans, Telekom is dependent on the support of the municipalities and private property owners.
