Telekom is expanding mobile phone supply in the Oberhavel district: New location and 5G improve cover and bandwidth

Deutsche Telekom has made considerable efforts in the past two months to improve mobile phone supply in the Oberhavel district. By building a new location and expanding another with 5G, the mobile phone cover in the region is now greater, and there is more bandwidth and better reception available. The location in Oranienburg is particularly important because it ensures reliable mobile phone supply along the busy Berlin-Rostock railway line.

The increasing demand for bandwidth requires continuous expansion. According to Georg von Wagner, company spokesman for Deutsche Telekom, the demand grows by around 30 percent annually. For this reason, the company continues to do everything possible to keep the pace in mobile phone expansion.

status and future prospects

With more than 100 locations, Telekom now operates a dense mobile network in the Oberhavel district. The cover in the household area is almost 100 percent. A further 42 locations are to be added by 2025 to further improve care. In addition, extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 36 radio masts.

The realization of these plans depends on the cooperation with the municipalities and the owners in order to rent suitable locations. If you want to rent areas for roof or mast locations, you are asked to contact the German radio tower. The company is responsible for the construction of the Telekom mobile phone locations. More than 36,000 mobile communications locations are currently in operation, and around 1,500 new locations are being built annually.
