Telekom drives mobile phone expansion in Kahla

in Kahla, mobile phone supply improves thanks to the expansion of Telekom. A new 5G location extends the mobile phone cover and offers more bandwidth overall. The reception in buildings also benefits from this measure. In addition, the location of the supply along the railway lines in Thuringia-Ost.

The demand for bandwidth continuously increases by around 30 percent per year. For this reason, Telekom continues the mobile phone expansion, explains Georg von Wagner, company spokesman Deutsche Telekom.

status and outlook

Telekom already operates 48 locations in the Saale-Holzland-Kreis district. The household cover is around 98 percent. A further 24 locations are to be added by 2026. In addition, extensions with LTE or 5G are planned at 15 radio masts.

The cooperation with the municipalities or owners is necessary in order to rent new locations. Telekom currently has over 36,000 mobile communications locations and builds around 1,500 new locations every year.
