Telekom: AfD Höcke spreads incorrect statement - legal steps possible
Deutsche Telekom rejects a statement by the AfD politician Björn Höcke about an alleged earlier advertising slogan of the company and examines possible legal steps. Höcke claimed in a TV duel that Telekom used the sentence "Everything for Germany" as an advertising saying, which the company clearly stamps as wrong.
The sentence mentioned is a forbidden solution of the storm department (SA), the paramilitary fighting organization of the NSDAP. Due to the use of this slogan in a speech, Höcke has to answer for the accusation of using indicators.
Telekom had already intervened against AfD Federal Preconentement Alice Weidel last year after making similar statements about a supposed advertising slogan of the company. The AfD politician was asked to refrain from this claims, which she agreed according to Telekom.
In terms of the controversial choice of words in the TV duel, Höcke defended his statements and stated that he did not know about the SA slogan during the speech. He emphasized that it was a "common saying". Telekom reacted with the announcement of legal steps against the wrong statements of Höcke.
