Storm deep teles brings hurricane gusts and Mucho rain to Berlin!

A strong storm has hit Berlin and Brandenburg! The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of violent wind gusts that can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, which corresponds to wind strength seven. In some regions even gusts with storm strength of 65 to 85 kilometers per hour can be expected. As the B.Z. , the wind is supposed to lower in the afternoon, while the temperatures are increasing to a mild five to nine degrees.

The trigger for the turbulent weather is the storm low "Telse", which moves to Germany via the English Channel. On Wednesday, the weather was decided with a "rather uninhibited day" for many, said meteorologist Felix Dietzsch from the DWD. On the night of Thursday, the cold winds brought extreme hurricane gusts, and the big precipitation ensures a refreshing bath for the thirsty soils. In regions such as Schleswig-Holstein and Mecklenburg, up to 30 liters of rain per square meter are possible within twelve hours, such as ZDF

consequences of the storm

The north of Germany is particularly affected, where nine to ten gusts of wind are expected on Wednesday evening. On the East Frisian coast, the wind could even reach strength ten, at speeds of 100 to 110 kilometers per hour. From the second half of the night, the storm field shifts to the east, although day trippers should be particularly careful on the chunk: there are temporarily extreme hurricane gusts of over 140 kilometers per hour.

After the withdrawal of "Telse", Friday brings a calming down of the weather. However, the colder polar air ensures that the snowfall limits in the low mountain ranges drop strongly, with up to ten centimeters of fresh snow in the Ore Mountains, as Dietzsch explains. In the Allgäu, too, strong snowfall is expected before the whole hustle and bustle of Friday night and a high over the region.
