A new trend conquers the hearts of the Germans: When it comes to traveling in your own country, you want to experience one thing above all - nature! The latest study by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts proves it: The average German is ready to travel about four hours for the perfect break. That means an adventure that is only two feature lengths away!
In the middle of breathtaking landscapes and undiscovered insider tips, travelers get their money's worth. According to the survey, 53 % of the respondents clearly show that the path to nature is the decisive factor in choosing a travel destination. Almost 60 % of Germans are ready to explore new regions away from the tourist flows - a sign of the trend towards regional and sustainable tourism!
Experience nature and search for adventure
The survey shows that the Germans are not only looking for relaxation, but also adventures on their vacation. A total of 62 % is drawn with your own car to the natural hotspots such as the Black Forest or Lake Constance. Here you can enjoy the beauty of Germany to the fullest. And it gets even more exciting: Over 49 % of travelers are actively looking for "hidden jewels". Places that are less visited and are often off the usual paths!

Almost a third of the respondents (28 %) opt for weekend trips, while 23 % are planning longer stays to not only switch off, but immerse themselves in the regions that they travel. The urge to discover new things is also great among the young generation: 40 % of the 18-34 year olds state that switching off the stress of the world of work is a central reason for their travel wishes.
Caution! The budget plays a crucial role. In contrast, 90 % of the respondents are cost -conscious and 49 % consider their budget to be extremely important. That means: trips to Germany are not only environmentally friendly, but also pretty clever!
