Strikwelle in money transport: ver.di demands fair wages and better conditions
alarm mood in money and value transport! The mighty United Service Union (ver.di) has declared a nationwide strike for October 1, 2024, which records all federal states. The following day, October 2, 2024, the protest in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, and the metropolitan regions of Berlin, Brandenburg, Lower Saxony, Bremen and North Rhine-Westphalia will continue. The waves hit up!
But what led to this dramatic step? The answer lies in the failed wage and mantle travers for around 10,000 employees, which revealed apparently insurmountable differences between the union and the employers' associations. Already in the second round of negotiations on September 20, 2024, the Federal Association of German Earnings and Value Services (BDGW) remained far behind the expectations and did not present an acceptable offer. This ignorance has overflowed the barrel!
The clear message of ver.di
Sonja Austermühle, the negotiator of ver.di, made a position in clear words: "Instead of making constructive proposals, employers held on exploitative demands to deteriorate. Your anger is understandable and indicates a broader tension in the industry.
The union calls for a flashing rethink. For the Federal Mantelic Agreement Treaty, ver.di requires that all overtime beyond the legally defined eight hours will be adequately paid out. So that is not enough: a nationwide holiday allowance and Christmas bonus, each with half a gross month of month, are also part of their demands. In addition, every employee is said to be entitled to 31 vacation days - a measure that the long -standing employees must not disadvantage.
- nationwide wage unit: In the mobile area, the hourly wages in NRW and Lower Saxony should increase to 23 euros. In other federal states such as Bavaria, Bremen and Hesse, 22.50 euros are required, while in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland 22 euros should be considered a minimum. The same for the new federal states: An hourly wage of 21.10 euros.
- for inpatient companies: Here ver.di strives for an increase in hourly wages in the above -mentioned federal states to 19.50 euros, while in the other federal states 18.00 euros are targeted.
The next round of negotiations, a key event in the conflict, is already in Munich on October 17 and 18, 2024. Will there be an agreement there or does the industrial action go to a new escalation level? The clock ticks!
