Street football for children: sports and democracy on the square in Reinickendorf!

On Friday, May 23, an impressive street football tournament took place on the sports field of the Albrecht Haushofer School in Heiligensee. This event was organized as part of the Kickfair educational project and attracted over 150 children from various Reinickendorfer primary schools. The participating schools included the elementary school on Tegel's place, the Ellef-Ringnes elementary school and the Ottfried-Prussler primary school.

A special feature of the tournament was the Peer-to-Peer concept of Kickfair, through which students from the Albrecht Haushofer School took responsibility for the organization and support of the entire tournament. All teams were formed on site, with the participants playing together regardless of their age, school or gender. The focus was on fair play and a respectful cooperation.

democratic elements and participation

Another innovative element of the tournament was the agreement of the children on the rules for each game. This promoted not only the understanding of rules, but also the principles of participation and responsibility. In this context, Harald Muschner, district councilor for education, emphasized that the tournament was an excellent example of sporting coexistence and democratic learning.

The event was considered successfully in both sport and educational terms and illustrated the importance of team spirit and mutual appreciation.

educational projects and integration

The Kickfair Initiative is part of a larger strategy that aims to promote social skills and informal learning in a protected framework. According to Kickfair's information, various programs are offered that support children and adolescents, especially from socio -economically weak families. These children often have limited access to tutoring and other educational resources, which can affect their school success. Low -threshold projects that combine sport and education are necessary to meet these challenges and to offer alternatives to increased screen use.

In the context of these efforts, cooperation with schools, municipalities and other institutions such as the Albert Koechlin Foundation and the Laureus Foundation is of crucial importance. The measures that are implemented on school -free afternoon range from homework aid to healthy food to sports and play an important role in the long -term development of the participating children and adolescents.

The positive effects of these projects are shown by increased joy in learning, better academic achievements and a healthier lifestyle. Such initiatives make a valuable contribution to equal opportunities and violence prevention in society.
