Increasing investments in the German rail network per capita in the focus in 2023
increasing per capita investment in the rail show growing interest in sustainable mobility
The current figures of the per capita investments in the rail network in Germany reflect a positive trend: compared to the previous year, the investments increased minimally and point a clear tendency. This development was recently presented by the Lobbyverband Allianz Pro Schiene in Berlin.
Andreas Geißler, Head of Transport Policy of the Allianz Pro Schiene, emphasized that 2023 has not yet brought the hoped -for breakthrough, but improvements are still visible. Last year the per capita investments amounted to 115 euros, in 2022 it was still 114 euros. This increase shows a growing interest in sustainable mobility and the expansion of the rail network as an important part of a future -oriented transport policy.
Through targeted investments in the rails, not only can environmental impacts reduce, but also increases efficiency in passenger and freight transport. A modern and well -developed rail network makes a significant contribution to relieving roads and improving mobility for all citizens.
These rising per capita investments in the rail signal an important step towards a more sustainable and efficient traffic transition. It is to be hoped that this positive trend will continue in the coming years to sustainably improve the traffic situation in Germany.
