With the expiry of the heating network on March 31, 2024, the opening times of the Ingeborg Drewitz library in Berlin will be adjusted on April 2nd, 2024. The new opening times are as follows: Monday to Wednesday and Friday from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Thursday from 12 noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Due to the changed opening times, the library staff can now again offer service and information services in full. This includes creating and extending library cards, the settlement of fees, information services as well as the borrowing and the withdrawal of console and board games as well as musical instruments.

Before opening of the library, the personnel conducts reading promotion measures with daycare centers and schools from Steglitz-Zehlendorf. Evening events take place at the announced times, whereby the admission takes place shortly before the event begins.

The new opening times apply from 02.04.2024. If you have any questions or for further information, the library can be contacted on the phone number 90299 2410 or by email at info@stadtbibliothek-steglitz-zehlendorf.de. The Ingeborg Drewitz Library is located at Grunewaldstraße 3, 12165 Berlin.

The adaptation of the opening times may have an impact on the number of visitors and the use of the library. The extended opening times can be particularly advantageous for pupils and working people, since they can now also attend the library after work or school.

It should be mentioned that the Ingeborg-Drewitz library is named after the German writer Ingeborg Drewitz, who was committed to social issues and human rights during her life. The library honors its legacy by making access to knowledge and education accessible to everyone.
