City development day: Construction site inspection of the new sports hall

On Saturday, May 4, 2024, on the occasion of the day of urban development, a guided construction site inspection of the growing shell of the new sports hall of the Christoph-Földerich primary school took place. Interested residents and members of the school community took the opportunity to get an insight into the progress of the construction work. Even prominent guests such as the school councilor Dr. Carola Brückner, the district councilor for urban planning Thorsten Schatz and the state secretary for school building and culpery Dr. Torsten Kühne were on site to find out about the developments.

The construction site inspection was accompanied by representatives of the commissioned architecture firm Ibus Architects as well as the district building authority, the city development office and the school and sports office. Together they answered questions about the construction project and gave insights into the planning and implementation of the new sports hall.

The building city councilor Dr. Carola Brückner emphasized the importance of the new construction project, which is largely financed by funding from the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Living. She also mentioned the delays caused by problems with the originally commissioned construction company, but emphasized that the building is now progressing thanks to the new construction company Stadtbau Lausitz.

City Councilor Thorsten Schatz emphasized that the modern and barrier -free three -field sports hall will not only cover school needs, but should also create capacity for club sports in Wilhelmstadt. The sports hall will not only benefit the children of the Christoph-Földerich primary school, but also serve as an attractive competition for the future.

The completion of the new sports hall is expected in autumn of the coming year after the topping -out ceremony is to be celebrated in a few months. The participants are optimistic that the sports hall will not only meet school needs, but will also be an enrichment for sporting and social cohesion in the community.
