Spandauer Sport im Park: Free movement offer for everyone!
In the Berlin district of Spandau, the popular “Sport im Park” program is also offered this year. From May to October 2025, spandauers can take part in a variety of free activities regardless of their sporting background. The offer starts in 2018 and is now one of the largest free public movement programs in Berlin, which is funded by the Senate Department for Interior and Sport. This year the program will take place from May 1st to October 31st, as Geufit-berlin.de reported.
The program attaches particular importance to accessibility: participation is uncomplicated, all activities do not require prior registration. Interested parties only need to have movement to just come over and participate. The offers range from gentle training to playful movement to sporting challenges that are designed for all ages.
diverse offers and partners
The offer of "Sport im Park" is supported by various local partners, including TSV Spandau 1860 e.V., the Sportkinder Berlin e.V., the Berliner Deaf Sportverein e.V. and the Stadtmovement e.V. Events take place at several attractive locations, including the Krienicke Park, the Südpark, Münsinger Park and the Spandauer Forst.
The program pursues a clear goal: to motivate the population of Spandau to more movement in community. It is part of the health policy initiative "growing up healthy, life and getting older in Spandau" and part of the Spandau strategy "Spandau moves!". Regular movement should be prevented from preventing diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and depression, How the family portal Berlin explains .
movement for all
Berlin as a whole launched similar initiatives. The “Berlin moves” program offers free sports and movement activities in all districts all year round. The offers include a wide range of sports, including basketball, yoga, martial arts and various fitness courses for different target groups, including special programs for children, adolescents and families. Participation is also uncomplicated because no registration is required and the activities are aimed at all age groups.
For everyone who is interested in the activities, digital flyers are available with details of the offers sorted by district. This information and daily updates can be found on the website www.sportimpark.berlin.de
