Spandauer participation funds: nine applications unanimously approved
The jury for Spandau participation funds met on April 25th. For the first time and unanimously voted for all nine applications. This shows the strong commitment of the local community for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities. District Mayor Frank Werbig and District Chair of BVV Christian Heck emphasized the importance of the fund for citizen participation and promoting an inclusive spand.
The jury consists of various members, including the district advisory board for people with disabilities and the district officer for seniors and people with disabilities. The fund is equipped with € 50,000.00, of which around € 23,000.00 were approved in this round. The remaining funds are used for the implementation of the guiding and orientation system of the advice center for chronically ill "Mela 8".
The Spandau participation fund plays an important role in financial support for local organizations, non-profit projects, associations and private individuals in the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities. The next call for funding is planned for January 2025. In addition, there is the Berlin participation fund that supports the implementation of the UN-BRK throughout Berlin.
Overall, the jury's decision to the Spandau participation fund shows the strong commitment and cooperation of the local community for an inclusive Spandau. The promotion of projects for barrier -free participation and support for people with disabilities is an important step towards a just society.
