A new hotspot for young adventurers has entered Berlin! The youth playground at the Havelgarten in Haselhorst was officially opened yesterday and offers plenty of space for fun and movement on impressive 1,300 m². Here young people can finally let their play instinct run free!
On the initiative of the city councilor Thorsten Schatz, he inaugurated the new playground together with the representatives of Gewobag, Anja Weiß and Marion Pieper. "The youth playground offers a wide range of movements, including a Calisthenics facility with parkour elements, two table tennis panels and a trampoline. With this place we create an attractive offer especially for young people in Haselhorst. The new sports and movement opportunities not only promote physical fitness, but also strengthen social interaction," says Schatz proudly about the latest highlight of the neighborhood.
a place for everyone
The new playground is the result of a creative interaction between various partners. As part of the “Berlin model of cooperative building land development”, the state -owned housing association Gewobag has covered part of the costs. The remaining editions were covered by the KSSP daycare and playground renovation program. Thanks to the cooperation with Bew Berliner Energie und Wärme AG and the “Room for Children's Dreams” project, a comprehensive offer for young and old visitors could be created.
What makes this playground special? The voice of the young people counts! As early as March 2023, a survey took place among the young visitors to the Havelspitze youth club, in which their wishes and ideas were collected. These valuable suggestions served as a guide for the selection of the movement and play equipment, so that the leisure location is tailored to the needs of teenagers.
