Free advice for those affected: Mela 8 invites you to information event
open community: Day of the information event to support those affected in Berlin-Spandau
On September 5, 2024, the advice center "Mela 8" of the Spandau health department opens its doors to all interested citizens. From 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., visitors will get an insight into the diverse support offers for people with disabilities, cancer and chronic diseases. In order to promote inclusion, admission for wheelchair users will be enabled from 2:00 p.m., which guarantees the barrier -free access to the event.
The venue is Melanchtonstrasse 8-9 in 13595 Berlin, a central point that facilitates access for many citizens. The event not only has an informative character, but is also a way for the community to come together and learn from each other.
The importance of this event is shown in the large number of cooperation partners who will be represented on site. Organizations such as the general blind and visually impaired association Berlin as well as the outpatient hospice service and the women's self-help Krebs Group Berlin-Spandau present their offers. These partnerships are essential to create a network that offers those affected extensive support.
In addition to providing information about medical and psychosocial advice, the event also shows practical benefits. Topics such as "Sports after Cancer" and "Blasrohm shooting as an inclusion sport" combine movement with social participation. In addition, health checks such as blood pressure measurements and BMI regulations are offered to support the physical health of visitors.
The advice center "Mela 8" is aware of the challenges that people with health impairments and their relatives are facing. It offers important help in areas such as applying for integration aids and the clarification of legal questions. The regular discussion groups and offers for accompanying measures are also important components of the service, since they help those affected not to feel alone in difficult life situations.
Another area of responsibility is prevention. The advice center carries out courses in schools in order to draw attention to health issues at an early stage and thus raise awareness of the concerns of people with disabilities. This work is of central importance because it contributes to reducing prejudices and promoting an inclusive understanding within the community.
