Benefit concert in Spandau: Music for women in need!

On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Christians in Berlin-Spandau will help a benefit concert by the DSO community orchestra in Berlin-Spandau. The event begins at 5 p.m. and admission is free. District Mayor Frank Werwig took over the patronage. The concert is devoted to the two clubs Eulalia. V. and Hînbûn who are committed to women and refugees.

The musical program includes extracts from Georges Bizet's opera "Carmen", Edvard Grieg's "Peer Gynt" suite and Hungarian dances by Johannes Brahms. While participation in the concert is possible without prior notice, donations are requested to support the two clubs. The placement of space takes place in the order of the appearance, which means that a reservation is not possible. This event helps to secure and expand the help offers for women in the city.

commitment to women

The Eulalia Sacrifices Association e. V., which was founded in 1987 as a women's self-help and neighborhood project, offers specialist advice centers for domestic violence and support for refugees. The aim is to offer women a meeting point where they can communicate without violence, exchange and network. Specialist advice is interdisciplinary and multilingual, with employees speaking several languages such as Arabic, Dari, English and Russian. Franziska Milata has the management of the center.

The association Hînbûn supports women and girls who have experienced discrimination, violence or persecution. Both organizations are essential for the strengthening of women in Berlin-Spandau and offer a wide range of psychosocial, educational and social advice.

help in precarious situations

In Berlin, numerous help facilities are available to offer support for women affected by violence. These include BIG e.V.- Berlin initiative against violence against women, which can be reached daily between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. on the hotline (030) 6110300, as well as the Lara crisis and advisory center, which specializes in sexual violence in women. In addition, initial consultation on the nationwide help telephone for violence against women on 08000 116 016 is also offered.

These initiatives are crucial because every form of violence against women is widespread and often remains unnoticed. However, the large number of advice centers show that those affected are available to comprehensive support and that the city of Berlin is determined to take measures against violence to women.

The upcoming benefit concert is therefore not only a cultural event, but also an important opportunity to draw attention to the needs and challenges of women in our society and at the same time offer a platform for their support.
