Security agreements between Germany and Ukraine: Long -term cooperation on a new foundation
Security agreement provides long -term cooperation on a new foundation
Germany and Ukraine have closed a safety agreement today. The agreement represents a clear political commitment to permanent cooperation in all fields of security. In addition to France and Great Britain, Germany is now the third western country that has signed such an agreement with Ukraine. This is an important step to support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and prosperity.
The agreement between Germany and Ukraine was signed on the occasion of the visit of the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj in Berlin. The signing was made at the same time with similar agreements with France and Great Britain. The common agreements with these countries are intended to ensure that Germany and Ukraine are working more closely together in matters of security and the military cooperation is further expanded.
The political situation in Ukraine is currently very unstable. For years there has been an armed conflict with separatists in eastern Ukraine, which is supported by Russia. Ukraine is dependent on international support in order to deal with this situation and to maintain its territorial integrity. The agreement with Germany is therefore of great importance because it increases cooperation in the areas of security, including military cooperation.
Germany has already delivered weapons and military equipment to Ukraine in the past to support her in the fight against the separatists. The signing of the safety agreement shows that Germany is still willing to support Ukraine in its efforts for stability and security. However, it remains to be seen how much Germany will meet the agreement with life. In particular, the delivery of weapons and ammunition should not be delayed, since the military situation in Ukraine is still difficult.
Ukraine is in a lengthy conflict with Russia, which has been going on since 2014. The annexation of the Crimea by Russia and the armed conflict in the east of the country have led to a humanitarian crisis and heavily burdened the relationships between Ukraine and Russia. The international community expressed its support for Ukraine in this conflict and imposed sanctions against Russia.
How the agreement is implemented exactly and whether it will actually lead to the end of the conflict in Ukraine remains to be seen. However, it is an important step in the right direction and a sign of solidarity with Ukraine.
In the following table, some facts about Ukraine are listed:

Ukraine has a rich history and culture that goes back to antiquity. The country was part of the Kiev Rus', a medieval East Slavic state that was founded in the 9th century. Later the Ukraine was part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Russian Empire.
The independence of Ukraine was first explained in 1991 when the Soviet Union disassembled. Since then, the country has made great progress in the direction of democracy and market economy, but has continued to fight with political and economic challenges.
The safety agreement with Germany is an important milestone for Ukraine and will hopefully help to end the conflict in eastern Ukraine and to promote the security and stability of the country.
