Shock moment in the middle: 16-year-olds recorded and injured by tram!

On the evening of October 16, Berlin, Berlin, occurred in Mitte, a serious accident in which a 16-year-old youth was injured. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Friedrichstrasse, at Claire-Waldoff-Straße. The young woman was first on the middle island before she was suddenly crossed the road and was hit by a tram on line 12 that was traveling from Chausseestrasse towards Reinhardtstrasse.

The tram leader, who could not prevent the collapsing traffic, immediately initiated a danger braking, but the collision could no longer be averted. Rescue workers immediately provided primary care at the scene of the accident and brought the injured young people to the hospital with head injuries, where they were hospitalized. Tram traffic was temporarily interrupted during the accident recording, which led to further disabilities in local transport. The investigation into this incident is carried out by a specialist commissioner for traffic offenses of the police department 5 (City).

Another accident in Prenzlauer Berg

Also on the same day there was another traffic accident with a tram that occurred in Prenzlauer Berg. A 19-year-old pedestrian was injured at around 3:45 p.m. when he crossed the Prenzlauer Allee's road towards Meyerheimstrasse. He overlooked the approaching tram of the M2 line, which was traveling towards Baltic Seaestrasse.

The tram guide, a 44-year-old woman, also initiated a danger braking and gave an acoustic warning signal, but here too there was a collision. The 19-year-old was hospitalized with several broken bones. Tram traffic was interrupted in both directions from 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m.

frequent accidents in Berlin

These accidents are part of a worrying trend in the capital. High traffic in Berlin leads to collisions almost every day. The most common causes are increased speeds and too low safety distances. Reports about similar incidents from districts such as Mitte, Friedrichshain and Wedding show that the references to dangers in local public transport are becoming increasingly important.

The current accidents illustrate the need for more sensitization in road traffic and possibly also from adjustments to the driving behavior of road users. The effects on public transport are considerable and it remains to be seen which measures are taken to improve traffic safety.
