Refurbishment success at the Ernst Adolf-Eschke School: New shine for educational institution

On Friday, September 6, 2024, the schooling ceremony at the Ernst Adolf-Eschke School will take place at 10 a.m. The educational councilor Heike Schmitt-Melm, together with the State Secretary for School construction and culprit, Dr. Torsten Kühne, inform about the current state of school rehabilitation.

The Ernst Adolf Eschke School is currently being subjected to a comprehensive renovation that is financed by the Senate and the district. In the spring of 2023, pollutants were discovered at school, which meant that 60 percent of the classrooms could not be used. In order to maintain school operations, four new pavilion teaching rooms were built by the district and the former caretaker apartment was rebuilt. The renovation measures include not only the elimination of the pollutants, but also measures for digitization and to improve heating, electricity and water supply. A total of around 1.8 million euros will be invested in the project.

The Ernst Adolfeschke School is a facility of the special education center, which specializes in hearing impaired and sign-oriented children and adolescents.
