Refurbishment work on A111 motorway in northwestern Berlin: traffic disruptions and closures during the summer holidays
renovation work on Autobahn 111 in northwestern Berlin ensures traffic impairments during the summer holidays. Between the Waidmannsluster Damm and Stolpe junctions, drivers have to expect longer travel times. This section will be completely closed from Saturday at 4 a.m.
The construction work on the Reinickendorf feeder will continue from July 15th to August 28th. From Sunday between Stolpe and Waidmannsluster Damm, only one lane will be available in both directions, as the Berlin Verkehrsinformationszentrale reports.
There will be four appointments on which the A111 is completely blocked:
- Saturday, July 15th. From 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- from Friday, July 28, 8 p.m. to Monday, July 31, 5 a.m.
- from Friday, August 18, 8 p.m. to Monday, August 21, 5 a.m.
- from Saturday, August 26, 8 a.m. to Monday, August 28, 5 a.m.
For the diversion, it is recommended to drive via Hennigsdorf and Heiligensee. The route runs over Hennigsdorfer Chaussee, Hennigsdorfer Straße, Heiligenseestrasse and Karolinenstrasse. The A114 (Pankow feeder) or the B5 Heerstraße to the Kreuz Spandau (A10, western Berliner Ring) can also be used as an alternative to the north.
It is advised to regularly check the traffic reports in order to remain informed about changes to the construction site status. The aim of making the highway more secure and more accessible in the long term.
