Pension crisis in Berlin: More and more seniors depend on basic security
It is an alarm sign in the system: the number of primary pensioners skyrocketing! In March 2024 we report on a record that reveals the extent of the problem - as many pensioners as never before are based on basic security! This worrying development will continue to worsen in the coming months, and this is not without reason!
The German pension insurance has clearly summed up the matter: since 2021 there have been new allowance regulations for the basic pension. Older people who are more than 67 years old and whose pension is not enough to live are entitled to government support. But what does that mean in reality? It is said that more and more people have to use this support. The saying "Delicate times require delicate measures" meet more than ever!
The dark reality of the pensions
Despite this new regulation, the situation remains tense. Many pensioners - especially women - are on the verge of financial ruin. A strongly increasing pressure on social assistance is the result! This development is not a coincidence, but the result of a system that no longer works. The basic mismanagement in pension policy means that these people have to take on additional work to make ends meet.
If the trend should be ongoing, experts urgently demand a comprehensive pension reform. Current measures such as the pension policy package II could prove to be inadequate, while the social structures continue to crumble. Experts are already warning: the solution cannot be with basic security! It is high time that the soul of the pension is reconsidered - a reason for concern for all citizens!
These alarming numbers raise questions: How long can we still afford such a development? Politicians are now required! Because one thing is clear: rethinking must come as quickly as possible before the darkness breaks over the pensioners.
