Record hunt in Berlin: District City Councilor Schmitt-Melz is planning the largest fruit salad in the world

On Sunday, September 15, 2024, district councilor Heike Schmitt-Melz will start a record attempt with the Fruithof Berlin to break the title for the world's largest fruit salad. The current record is 10,320 kilograms and is located in France. The goal is to reach at least 10,750 kilograms and thus bring the title to Berlin.
At the 75th anniversary of the Frueshof, around 300 pupils: interior, parents, employees: interior, teachers: interior and educators: take part in the record attempt together. The fruit salad is then donated to Berliner Tafel e.V.
volunteers wanted for the big snippet event
The fruit farm is still looking for volunteers who want to help cutting apples, pears and bananas. Interested parties can register at info@fruchthof-berlin.de and receive more information. The minimum age for participation is 16 years. All participants: get an apron as a memory.

In parallel to the record attempt, there will be a cultural program, a large weekly market, attractions for children and live music from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event offers fun for the whole family and invites you to celebrate.promotion of healthy diet for children
In order to promote healthy eating for children and adolescents, the fruit farm and Berliner Großmarkt GmbH finance a "school fruit" initiative. Schools in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf are supplied with fresh fruit to support a healthy diet.
